A young couple who were new to the neighborhood got invited by the older couple next door to go out to dinner with them. They were happy to get to know their new community and gladly accepted. They went out to dinner and since they don’t drink, requested an itemized check so they could split properly. Unfortunately, the older couple had no intention on doing just that… They ordered like they were eating their last meal and then requested that they split the check. The younger couple let it slide to save face, but after several more outings where this happened again they about had it. They went out one last time and the younger guy snuck away before sitting down. He said he was using the restroom, but really he was alerting their waiter that they will be splitting checks and to make sure they give the checks already split in an itemized fashion. So the waitered did just that and the older couple were flabbergasted. Turns out they weren’t the most “neighborly” neighbors as they led on.
