Ryan Reynolds sent Marvel fans into a frenzy earlier this week when he posted the Avengers logo with an anarchy symbol painted over it. Speculation was that the actor was teasing his Deadpool would have a role in Avengers: Doomsday, and now The Hollywood Reporter has reported that is exactly the case.
Via its Heat Vision vertical, THR claims sources confirmed Deadpool will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. However, they add that fans shouldn’t “expect him to actually be joining the Avengers team, though.” (Exiles, anyone?)
It’s long been assumed Marvel’s massive cast rollout earlier this year was intentionally leaving names off the Doomsday roster. Given how deeply Deadpool and Wolverine was embedded in multiverse concepts, such as introducing “anchor beings,” it only makes sense that Reynolds’ anti-hero would be part of the blockbuster. We’ll see who else is in the massive cast when Avengers: Doomsday on December 18th, 2026.
